Fun 107 Names Hometown Hero Award After GNBVT Teacher George Heath

"I'm choked up hearing this news," said Heath's widow Rosemary.  "It's such a nice gesture," she told the Rock and Fox Show.

Her husband, George Heath, heroically confronted a man who was actively stabbing their pregnant waitress at Bertucci's Restaurant in the Silver City Galleria.  Heath was fatally stabbed in the attack.  Since that day, Rosemary has made it her mission to keep George's memory alive.

Fun 107 is still looking for online submissions for the 2016 Hometown Hero.  We are accepting nominations until the end of the day on July 1st.  Next week, voters will choose their favorite nominee.  The 2016 Hometown Hero will be recognized at a Fun 107 luncheon, will gifts and gratitude from our sponsors Wareham Crossing, Carefree Homes, and First Citizens Federal Credit Union.  The Hometown Hero will also be honored with the "Heath Award".

Heard the interview this morning with Rosemary Heath about the Hero Award being named after her late husband George Heath. I've known George since he was 10 years old and loved him like a brother.
