Frostbite Warning Signs To Watch For
The warmest part of the day today will be when it is 16 degrees, but the wind chill will make it feel below zero.
When it gets to be THIS cold, there is a very good chance of frostbite. Frostbite occurs when the skin gets to be below 23 degrees, and in sub zero temps, it takes about 5 to ten minutes for that to occur.
Doctors say one sign of frostbite is when skin may become painful or prickly. It will also have a white or grayish tone and will be hard and waxy-looking.
To prevent frostbite, dress in multiple layers, make sure little to no skin is exposed and of course, limit your time exposed to these extreme temps.
