You're in for a treat this week with a huge non-divisional rivalry game. New Bedford High will head across town lines to face Dartmouth for Friday Night Lights.

Both teams have similar records this season, with both team's last loss coming from Bridgewater-Raynham by the same margin of 14 points. Coincidence? Probably, but these long-time rivals always bring a little extra to their yearly match-up.

Besides bragging rights over Dartmouth, New Bedford can also help themselves to the number one spot in the Big Three Conference with a win in Friday's game. With Brockton High School ranked in the Boston Globe's Top 20 teams in the state, every game matters for the Whalers if they want to repeat as Big Three champions.

Dartmouth's loss to B-R last week makes their road to an Old Colony championship that much harder, but can keep their lead if they win their final games, along with a little help from Bridgewater-Raynham's opponents. Both B-R and the Indians have challenging final games, but Dartmouth has the edge with a slightly easier schedule.

We'll see if the Indians can overcome the Whalers this Friday at the Dartmouth Memorial Stadium on Slocum Road, Dartmouth at 7 pm. The Fun 107 crew will be there registering seniors up for the $5,000 Jack Peterson scholarship, along with other cool giveaways
