Fresh Food Walk-Up Windows on the Southcoast

Summer is here and who has time to sit inside the restaurant when you can enjoy the outdoors while eating?!

Country Whip in Acushnet has really good food on their walk-up menu and it comes out fast!  Everything from burgers and hotdogs to fried fish platters and onion rings.  Of course, you can't go to Country Whip without ordering your favorite ice cream or sundae, yum! Soft serve ice cream is also available.

Oxford Creamery in Mattapoisett would be another great stop for a quick window food order and they too have ice cream!  They serve up a good old fashioned hot dog loaded if you'd like, fried clams, clam chowder, burgers and everything in between.  When I first discovered Oxford Creamery, probably 15 years ago at this point, I found the BEST fresh lobster roll in town, hands down!

Just down the road a bit from Oxford, you'll come up on Kool Kone in Wareham.  These folks have been around for as long as I can remember. They now have an 18 hole mini golf right next door, check that out here. The menu at Kool Kone is endless.  You'll find your favorite seafood plates and all American basics like burgers and sandwiches and of course...ICE CREAM! Family owned and operated forever, it's a trip down route 6 to look forward to.

In Fairhaven on route 6 you'll find the famous Gene's Seafood and they have a walk-up window where you can place your order and get it fast.  We are in the land of the most amazing seafood you'll find probably anywhere, so yes, the seafood at Gene's is also great!  Shoes on or off, a stop at Gene's walk-up window for your favorite fried clam roll is sure to make your day.

26 Brock Ave in New Bedford is home to Clark's Point Creamery.  Located down in the south end near the water, Clark's has been serving up the best of both worlds for decades.  You'll find all of the similar favorites at the other walk-up window spots in this article but at Clark's Point Creamery, right down the road on South Rodney French Blvd is a beautiful view of the water there in the South End.

Barnicle Bill's Seafood is on Cranberry Highway East Wareham, close to Buzzards Bay.  Seafood is their specialty and you can order it right at the window, no need to go in and sit down if you are rushed or want to eat lunch or dinner outside this summer.  How about a good old Cape Cod clam boil?!

Evelyn's Drive In on Main Rd in Tiverton is a local favorite but the word is out and they are attracting crowds from all over the Southcoast.  It must be their amazing waterfront view!  Delicious food, all kinds but the seafood is delish.  And, the margarita's, so good!!
