Foxwoods is looking to get into a Southeastern Massachusetts casino game, but there is a huge problem. We have a tribe who are native to this area, the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe. You know what this is gonna mean! A fight for the ages!

According to WBSM-AM, Fall River Mayor William Flanagan and Conn.-based casino announced Tuesday the idea to build a $750 million review in a city. This means between 3,000 and 5,000 jobs in the river. Not only a casino, but 20 restaurants, a nice hotel, a gathering center, a sauna and party core for concerts and other events.

Foxwoods CEO Scott Butera says could be a mercantile engine for the city and “a genuine traveller destination.”

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission found Foxwoods suitable to work a casino, though with conditions raising questions about the company’s finances. Foxwoods won’t have to go by a credentials checks again, though will have to accommodate a conditions summarized by a commission.

The opening of Foxwoods in this part of the state would put pressure on the Mashpee Wampanoag, seeking sovereign capitulation of a $500 million Indian casino in Taunton. I support an idea of this magnitude, but only with the Mashpee Wamponaog Tribe.
