Former Patriots Player Helped Bombing Victims

Joe Andruzzi won 3 Super Bowl rings while playing for the New England Patriots. He was also diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2007.   Andruzzi had also joined his three New York City Firefighter bothers during a ceremony heralding the return of football after the September 11 attacks.   On Patriot's Day, he witnessed another tragedy and he sprang into action.  He appeared in a viral photograph of Twitter carrying a victim to safety.   He later posted on Twitter "Jen and I are safe.  Thanks for all your tweets."  He also thanked emergency personnel and released a statement thanking "countless individuals" who responded to bloodied and frightened marathon participants and their supporters.
