NEW BEDFORD - Coming this summer: the first ever New Bedford Food Truck and Craft Beer Festival.

The City's Tourism Department confirmed that about 25 restaurants on wheels will descend upon New Bedford in July, with craft beer vendors serving up their frosty beverages, as well.

Tourism Director Dagny Ashley tells WBSM News food trucks are the "in" thing right now. "It's a phenomenon," says Ashley. "The whole food culinary tourism has kicked off because it's a way of people gathering at a festival and enjoying something different."

About 25 food trucks and 25 craft beer vendors will be on hand for the festival, which is taking place at Fort Taber on July 15.
