Fishing Vessel Snags Human Body Off Wesport Coast

Officials say a body was found off the town's coast this morning.

The Bristol County District Attorney spokesman Gregg Miliote tells WBSM News a fishing vessel accidentally snagged the body about a mile offshore, and immediately notified the Coast Guard.

The unidentified body has been taken to the State Medical Examiner's office on Cape Cod.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Thursday. We'll have more information as it becomes available.
