The great whites aren't just in Cape Cod apparently. A Rhode Island fisherman reeled one in over the weekend and it was a monster.

Michael Lorello took to Facebook Sunday afternoon to share the news of his six-foot great white shark catch less than a mile from Misquamicut Beach in Westerly, Rhode Island.

As someone who has been to that beach many times, that is kind of off putting that a great white was that close.

Lorello shared not only photos of his catch, but also video that shows that shark thrashing around in his boat trying to get back to the water.

And get back to the water he did.

Lorello says he released the great white back into the water after he got his keepsake photos and video.

And his catch caught quite a few eyes. By Monday morning he had over 22,000 views on his video and counting!

Most of the time the Southcoast hears new of great whites off the Cape, so a catch of one off Rhode Island is slightly new.

But with the crazy hot and humid weather that has been around for weeks, it's no wonder all the water around here is warm enough for these massive fish to enjoy.
