UPDATE: Fire and Ice at Providence Place Closed Permanently

If you were heading to Providence Place Mall for some create-your-own stir fry...think again. Fire + Ice has suddenly closed its doors...for now anyway.

The long standing restaurant has been a part of the mall since it first opened in 1999, but recently posted paper 'Closed Temporarily' signs on its doors.

According to NBC 10, the mall had no details on the closure or whether or not it was in fact temporary.

Online the restaurant's social media sites are still active both on Facebook and Twitter. But on the company website, the Providence Place location no longer shows up.

Yelp is currently reporting the restaurant as closed and recent reviews on Trip Advisor are extremely bad.

**UPDATE: As of about 5 p.m. Fire + Ice emailed patrons to announce that the closure would in fact be permanent. Though no cause for the closure was given.
