The FBI is reopening the investigation into Hillary Clinton's handling of sensitive emails when she was Secretary of State.

A letter from the FBI to congressional leaders says investigators have learned about the existence of emails that may be pertinent to the investigation.

The letter says investigators cannot yet assess whether the material may be significant and puts no timetable on the new probe.

The investigation was previously closed and no charges were filed.
