Fun things to do in October


Just because its getting cooler outside doesn't mean that there are not fun things to do on the South Coast. Get the kids together and check out some family fun events on the South Coast..

Apple Festival:

Young Family Farm, 260 West Main Rd., Little Compton. Apple and pumpkin picking, live music, hayrides, pumpkin and face painting, crafts. Sat-Sun 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

 

King Richard’s Faire:

235 Main St. (off Route 58), Carver, Mass. (508) 866-5391; kingrichardsfaire.net. Medieval fair features live entertainment, an artisans’ marketplace, games and rides, live animals, strolling minstrels, storytelling, stunts, acrobats, jugglers, stilt walkers, life-size puppets, wenches, tiger cubs, jousting, food and drink, special events. Gluten-free, vegetarian and lactose-free food options available. Sat-Mon 10:30 a.m.-6 p.m. No pets allowed. $29, children 4-11 $16, children 3 and younger free. Free parking.

 

NEW BEDFORD SEAPORT CHOWDER FESTIVAL

October 18, 2015 @ 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm

City Pier 3

Great food, music and fun. Area restaurants serve sample sized portions of their best clam and seafood chowders, Kale soups and stuffed quahogs. Cast your votes for your favorites. Under tent on New Bedford’s historic working waterfront. Local beers, wines, soft drinks, desserts and snacks also available. Annual lobster races are great to watch and other family friendly activities are offered.
