Fall River is making a pitch to bring the Triple A Red Sox team to the Spindle City.

In this morning's Fall River Herald, the president and CEO of the Fall River Area chamber had this to say:

“We have started poking around, to see if there is an interest in bringing the Pawtucket Red Sox to Fall River. This is a job for the Chamber, to see if there is an interest and to talk to people to see where the interest might lead.”  --Robert Mellion

McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket has been the home of the the Boston Red Sox Triple-A farm league team since 1969.  New team owners want to move the team to a new stadium. Their idea for a Providence stadium fell flat, so now a lot of cities are in the hunt.

The chamber believes that Fall River has many desirable waterfront locations to house a new stadium for the Fall River Red Sox.
