A Fall River teen allegedly stole from a local Walmart and fired a BB gun at the loss prevention officer who followed him out of the store.

Wednesday afternoon police responded to the Walmart on Quequechan St in Fall River where employees reported seeing a teen taking merchandise and trying to leave the store.

The Herald reports that the Walmart loss prevention officer tried to detain the teen who had allegedly stuck the merchandise in his clothes, but the teen fled behind the building.

And when the officer tried to follow him, he turned with what appeared to be a black pistol in his hands and fired three times at the Walmart employee before hopping a fence and fleeing the area.

Soon after the incident, police picked up an individual who matched the suspect's description on Father Devalles Boulevard and found a black BB gun, a container of BBs, an alcoholic beverage container, a screwdriver and several items believed to be taken from Walmart on the teen.

He was arrested on several charges and was taken to the Fall River police station
