A Fall River soda maker is closing after nearly six decades in business.

The owner of Frosty Beverages cried as he typed the New Year’s Day announcement on Facebook that he was closing the business founded by his grandfather 59 years ago.

The 49-year-old who is balancing two full-time jobs while also wrangling with expensive machinery repairs and rising production costs led to the decision. A teacher at one the middle schools in the city, means he doesn't have the time to keep up the business.

The plant will close within a month, then he will sell the machinery and repair the building for rent or lease.

Customers are welcome to stop by and pick up sodas with flavors including strawberry and pineapple, but he’s going to keep some for himself. Here's the info, 548 Quarry St. Fall River, MA 02723
