One upset patron took to her keyboard after a meal left her upset. That's when things started to spiral out of control.

Local restaurants get poor reviews all the time, whether they deserve them or not. The Liberal Club in Fall River was on the receiving end of a lengthy one star review that somehow caught the attention of a food blogger who decided to turn the tables on our local food critic. The public post has since been taken down but here is the full review:

We have been going to the Liberal Club for over 30 years and have always loved it there. Last night we went for dinner and I ordered a White Seafood special with pasta. It was described on the menu as clams, scallops & shrimp. When my dinner arrived it had chopped, canned clams, china bay scallops, very small shrimp & 3 mussels. They only thing that was edible on the plate were the mussels & the 2 pieces of garlic bread. Other than that it was absolutely tasteless. I would expect a dish like that at Red Lobster, but not here in New England....especially the fact that you are literally 15 minutes away from the scallop capital of the world!!! Maybe raise your price a tad and serve a few "real" clams" a few "real" shrimp& a few "real" scallops. When the waitress asked if I wanted it wrapped, i told her they could put it right back in the can that all this stuff came from. Liberal Club will not be seeing me anytime soon!!

Management, by the way took the review very professionally and thought that would be the end of this fiasco. The food blogger The Bitchy Waiter, however, decided to tackle this review head on:

C’mon, Louise. Say it ain’t so! Is that how you treat everything? Did you watch all 264 episodes of Murder, She Wrote and then in the last one, “Death By Demographics,” where a San Francisco radio station changes its music format from classical to rock and the promoter who engineered the switch dies, did you suddenly decide that Murder, She Wrote sucked?

Moral of the story, don't let one bad apple spoil the bunch. Take 30 years of excellent service over one dish that shook you the wrong way. If you're one of the many who eat fish & chips at The Liberal Club every Friday, make sure you leave them a nice review.
