Today, Fall River residents will be heading to their nearest polling spots, between 7 am and 8 pm, to vote on a potential recall of current Mayor Will Flanagan.

According to a Boston Globe report, the recall was called for by opponents of Flanagan who are disgruntled over the recent fire department layoffs and pay-as-you-throw trash program. Also there have been increasing accusations being made about the three-term Mayor. The most alarming claim, made by a city councilor, asserts that Flanagan attempted to intimidate the man with a gun.

The recall does add a bit of a twist as there is a legitimate chance that Flanagan could be ousted from his position and voted back in all in the same day, due to the number of candidates with their hats in the ring.
