Voters head to the polls across Fall River today for the 2015 preliminary election.

Today's  preliminaries will decide on two challengers for the office of mayor and 18 challengers for the nine City Council seats for the Nov. 3 local general election.

According to the Herald News incumbent Mayor Sam Sutter, is up against candidates Robert Alexander Jr., City Councilor Jasiel Correia II, Richard Renzi and Jordan James Silvia. Sutter has been in office since December after he won overwhelmingly in a recall election that unseated then-Mayor Will Flanagan.

The City Council race has 29 candidates running in the preliminary election.
