The carousel that was enjoyed by thousands during it's days at Lincoln Park, had been fully restored and was an attraction near Battleship Cove in Fall River.  But now, the carousel has been shut down indefinitely.

The relic is suffering mechanical problems, and it's not clear where funding will come from to have it repaired.   It's owned by the Office of Economic Development, but operated by Battleship Cove.

The carousel is housed in a Victorian-style pavilion and features 48 hand-carved horses. The economic development and tourism committee of Fall River plan to meet soon to explore ways to get the historic carousel up and running again.
