Police arrested five women in Fall River on Saturday night after a brawl broke out on the 300 block of Walnut Street.

Two of the five women taken into custody were minors and one other juvenile had to be transported to Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence after suffering stab wounds to her abdomen and back.

Police say they responded to the fight just after midnight on Saturday at 329 Walnut Street and witnesses led officers to the stabbing victim.

She did receive treatment at the scene before being taken to the hospital, but there was no update as to her condition at this time.

Witnesses told police that the victim and others in a nearby apartment were contacted by a group of young women via text message. That led to a confrontation outside the residence and when the victim and others ran into the house, the women followed and the fight ensued.

According to the Herald, among those arrested were 19-year-old Alexa Torres, charged with armed assault to murder, home invasion, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing substantial injury, and assault and battery.

18-year-old Kanissa Sampson and 19-year-old Bryona Fernandes were also arrested at the scene and charged with home invasion.

The unnamed juveniles taken into custody were also charged with home invasion as well as assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

They were all scheduled to be arraigned in Fall River District Court.
