It's a ramp meant to launch boats from Bicentennial Park into The Taunton River. However, on Monday afternoon, the ramp was used to drive a car into the River.

The Fall River fire chief told the Herald News that after an apparent fight in the car, a women allegedly sped her boyfriend's Hyundai Sonata down the ramp and into the river. The car was then submerged up to the windshield with the man and woman still inside.

The fire chief reported that witnesses then helped the couple out of the car. Fire and police crews arrived at the scene at around 3:35 p.m., and paramedics transported the 47-year-old driver to Charlton memorial Hospital with injuries that did not appear to be serious.

The unidentified man, who was in the passenger seat when the car went into the water, told police that he was the owner of the vehicle. The car was later towed from the water.
