Matthew Gianlorenzo of Fairhaven is being charged with carrying a loaded shotgun and breaking into a shed in Rochester to steal some rope after his truck became stuck in the woods.   Police say the 18-year-old was carrying the loaded, sawed-off shotgun in his pants leg, 8 shotgun shells and a can of mace.   Officers also found an illegal double-edged knife in his truck.

Gianlorenzo told the police that he had driven down the dirt road at about 4 a.m. Saturday and his truck became stuck.  he then broke into the shed on Rounseville Road to find rope to help free the truck.    He also said he had fired the shotgun into the air a few times to scare-off an animal he thought was following him.
