Beach-goers beware. Fairhaven Police say they've received at least one report of a woman trying to scam people out of money by pretending to collect beach fees.

Fairhaven Police Sergeant Kevin Kobza says a report filed with police Monday alleges a middle-aged woman attempted to charge beach-goers $45 per car. Kobza says the high price alone is a red flag. "And to put it in perspective, the season pass for a town resident is $30 for the whole season. This person was trying to collect $45 for one day, allegedly," said Kobza.

Police are investigating the incident, and encourage residents to report any suspicious activity.

Kobza says the Town of Fairhaven does not collect beach fees after 4pm.
