Why Breastfeed? During a pregnancy, mothers and fathers are presented with the question “What method of feeding are you choosing for your baby?” We at the Wareham Nurse Midwives' practice respect the decision of our parents, however, we encourage our clients to choose breastfeeding.
The choice of breastfeeding is beneficial for both the mother and baby. It is also the choice and recommendation of the American Academy of Pediatrics due to the tremendous health benefits that breastfeeding provides for the baby.

Why Use a Certified Nurse Midwife for your Care? The American College of Nurse-Midwives describes their philosophy as “focused on the needs of the individual and family for physical care, emotional and social support and active involvement of significant others according to cultural values and personal preferences”. We instill this belief in our practice through using various comfort measures. Building a strong relationship with the mother throughout her pregnancy by having quality time together during each visit. Discussing in depth the mother's hopes and concerns for her pregnancy and delivery. Using various methods to ease the fear of childbirth for the mother. Designing a personal birthplan for the mother according to her wishes.

Nutrition. Nutrition is a huge component of your overall health as a woman. We understand your needs and stay up to date and new information. Regardless of your position in life, we can help you create a nutrition plan customized to your needs.
As a nurse-owned practice, we can also help with some general health services as well. We care about each patient and want to provide the best service possible.

Well Women Health. We care about the full health spectrum of each of our patients. We work with you to determine what is most important and what is the best solution for all your women's health needs. We perform well women annual physicals with each patient. We provide consultations on holistic health, good nutrition, good health habits, lifestyle teaching, and well women visits. This includes pap smears, but is about overall health- physically and emotionally. We really get to know each client, providing the personal touch in addition to quality medical care.
