Expect Delays Entering Rhode Island This Weekend

TRAFFIC ALERT: If you are heading West on Route 195 into Rhode Island this weekend give yourself some extra time.  Work is underway on the ramp from 195 onto Route 95 South in Providence.  RIDOT is only letting 1 lane of traffic through as crews are working to lift the ramp to make it level with the rest of the highway.

RIDOT expects this will cause heavy traffic and delays, especially during the day on Saturday and Sunday.  You are asked to avoid the area if you can, and if you can't plan extra time.

The work began Friday night at 7pm and should be finished by 5am on Monday.  I just traveled through there and the traffic was already slower than normal.
