The wait for The Lebanese Kitchen to open up in Mattapoisett has been a long one.  Taylor Swift was a country star when this all started.  It was after she dated Harry Styles, but before she dated Calvin Harris.  Now, we have reason to believe the Lebanese Kitchen is FINALLY opening.

Many have been waiting and wondering when the Lebanese Kitchen will open their doors. Even though no date is specified, the Lebanese Kitchen is now looking to hire staff, so we are thinking that could mean they will actually be opening soon. We spoke with the owner's son, Gary Moujabber, who told us that he is not 100% ready to set an opening date, but is hopeful that the restaurant will be up and running by the beginning of May. Moujabber says that he is still waiting to get some plumbing and electrical issues worked out by some local contractors. The restaurant has already secured a liquor license.

The Lebanese Kitchen originally opened in 1983 in New Bedford and was a favorite place for many to get traditional Lebanese food. The restaurant fave burned to the ground in July 2014, leaving behind a huge void for Lebanese food. The owners developed a plan to open up in Mattapoisett, buying the former Mattapoisett Chowder House during an auction. One obstacle after another has prevented the restaurant from finally opening its doors. Now, after years of waiting, we may finally have a new Lebanese option by the summer.

The Lebanese Kitchen is looking to hire chefs, bartenders, a brick oven baker, wait staff, food runners, bussers, and dishwashers.  If you feel like you or anyone you know would make a good addition to their team, visit their Facebook page for more information.

Hopefull this is a sign of the restaurant opening, but we also thought that the restaurant would open back in both 2015 and 2016, so could this really be the time for a reopening or just an assumption?
