WAREHAM — An Everett man faces multiple charges after he lost control of his car in Wareham and crashed into another vehicle.

Wareham Police responded to the crash on Plymouth Avenue on Monday. Preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by Ralph Hunter, 33, of Everett, had veered off the road, hit a stump, and struck another vehicle before rolling over.

One person in the car that was struck by Hunter's vehicle suffered minor injuries and was transported to Tobey Hospital.

During the investigation, officers determined that Hunter was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. At the scene, Hunter became very unruly with investigators, and began waving his arms, yelling, and "causing a spectacle." Three officers were required to arrest Hunter, who was resisting arrest.

Hunter is charged with operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, failure to wear a seat belt, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, and resisting arrest.

As he was being transported to Wareham Police Headquarters, Hunter was able to slip the handcuffs from behind his back to his front. Two officers had to escort Hunter through the station as he was still belligerent and combative.

Hunter is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday on the charges stemming from the crash.
