Escalator Malfunction Injures Five People In New Jersey [VIDEO]

As a kid, when you rode the escalator, everyone has tried to hold onto the armrail belt, or tried to have it drag you up as it continously goes and goes. But what happens when it suddenle stops and goes in reverse during rush hour foot traffic? Bad news.

According to CNN, an escalator suddenly jerks in reverse sending everyone going up, down. One of the commuters Alex Rodriguez, no relation to the baseball player, had this to say,

"Everyone started looking around and then it starts to go down at an accelerated rate. At that point, people started piling up towards the bottom and couldn't get off the escalator fast enough."
