The Barnstable Police Department received a call about a dangerous driver, on another continent.

BBC News reported on Tuesday that a woman called to report a man who was involved in an accident.

During the conversation, the dispatcher asked for more specific information about where the incident took place and she mentioned Mudeford, an area the dispatcher was unfamiliar with.

As the conversation continued the dispatcher continued to express confusion about where the incident took place.

The woman then told the dispatcher, “you must not be local, you can’t be.”

When the dispatcher informed her that she had called the Barnstable, Mass. Police Dept. the woman revealed that she was calling from England.

It turned out the woman was actually trying to reach Barnstaple Police in Devon, England and instead was put through to the Cape Cod town.

The dispatcher told the woman it was a different town and joked, “our response time is probably going to be around six hours.”

The entire conversation can be heard here.
