EEE Spraying Scheduled For Sept. 5

Mosquitoes carrying EEE were found in New Bedford on Monday. The Department of Health says the mosquitoes were primarily the bird-biting type, but have scheduled a spraying for Friday morning.

The spraying will happen between 2 a.m. and sunrise early Friday, targeting the Buttonwood Park, Industrial Park, and Sassaquin Pond areas. New Bedford residents should shut their windows when they go to bed as a precaution.

Positive EEE tests were also found in Acushnet, Freetown, Kingston and Rehoboth, so if you're in these areas then you should stay alert.
