Here is one of the two 20 pound turkeys we are cooking for Thanksgiving. I'm not a bad cook, but I just can't out figure out how to do the gravy.

My mother was watching the kids today, so I took advantage of her presence to have her cook the bird and show me how to make the gravy. I mentioned this plan today on the morning show, and Larry was completely opposed to the idea. He said it will be like we're having leftovers for the actual Thanksgiving meal.

I think cooking the turkey ahead of time frees up the oven on Thanksgiving day. You can cut the turkey all up in advance and save some time to enjoy with the family. I like the idea so much that I'm thinking about cooking my second 20 pounder on Wednesday.
