Eat A Lot of Red Meat? You Could Be At Higher Risk for Diabetes
A new study has found that there is a connection between eating red meat, and type two diabetes.
We all know that eating a lot of red meat isn’t great for you, but the new research reported in the JAMA Internal Medicine says that people who do indulge in large amounts of red meat are at higher risk for type two diabetes. So if you don’t eat a lot of it, you are at lower risk.
If you decrease the intake of red meat, even though you might not see it immediately, in the long run you actually have an impact on your diabetes and you decrease somewhat modestly, but nonetheless, your risk of Type 2 diabetes

This study was conducted over the course of 20 years. Eating habits were studied with various questionnaires, and were updated every four years.
It doesn’t take much to increase your risk. The study says that people who increased red meat intake by just a half serving were 48% more likely to develop type two diabetes. But they say that moderation is key.
