There's now a new way to find out if your ancestors came to this country on the Mayflower or were part of the original settlement in Plymouth.

It's thanks to the efforts of the New England Historic Genealogical Society. They have created an online database of Mayflower ancestors.

According to their Facebook page, this new database includes over half a million names. It goes all the way back to those who arrived on the Mayflower in 1620, and includes descendants through the fifth generation. The database includes birth, baptism, marriage and death records of 50 of the 51 pilgrims that have descendants. That now totals nearly 10 million Americans.

So how do you find out if you are one of them? You can go to americanancestors.org and take it from there.

There is a membership fee, but they do offer a free trial.
