Red Cross blood drives in January will have a DD perk for those who donate.

For the 11th year Dunkin Donuts and the American Red Cross are partnering for the Dunkin' Donors Make A Difference Campaign.

Like previous years, donors who give blood or platelets at Red Cross blood drives in January will receive a $5 Dunkin gift card.

The Red Cross-Dunkin Donuts partnership has helped collect over 790,000 blood and platelet donations over the last decade in January.

According to the Red Cross Biomedical Services director of national partnerships, Donna Morrissey,

Donating blood or platelets helps to save lives, and with Dunkin’ Donuts’ support, we can help ensure hospital patients receive the transfusions they need."

She reminds people that "the need for blood doesn’t break for winter weather" and urges those who can to call and make appointments to give blood at drives throughout January (typically a challenging months for donations).
