This is why we (Patriot Nation) can't have nice things.

On Sunday, January 27, the AFC Champion New England Patriots were greeted by an estimated 35,000 fans at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.

A good friend of mine, Kyle "Mr. Dabs" DeSousa, was patiently waiting on the 20-yard line for the arrival of the G.O.A.T. (Mr. Tom Brady, of course) when he witnessed a careless act from what we can only assume was a drunken fool. DeSousa was watching the jumbo LCD display to catch a glimpse of the Patriots when he witnessed someone in the crowd begin to climb one of the field goal posts opposite of the stage.

It was 10:36 a.m., which is a tad bit early to be drunk (if that was the case) when the fan had successfully climbed the pole and was sitting on the goal post. DeSousa tells Fun 107 that the guy used the Patriots printed foam padding at the bottom of the pole to leverage himself up onto the beam.

"Security presence was thin, it actually took a bit for them (security) to get over there (the goal post) and eject him," DeSousa said.

Once security reached what everybody is assuming must have been an inebriated fan, he agreed to come down on his own. They grabbed him by the shirt and escorted him into an office to sign paperwork.

It amazes me how much effort some people will go through for a few minutes of fame (and often times shame). Is not being allowed back into Gillette Stadium to catch a Pats game for the remainder of your life really worth it?

No, thank you, I didn't think so.
