DARTMOUTH - Dartmouth Police allege that two town employees were conducting drug deals on Town Hall property.

Detective Kyle Costa says a male employee is being charged with distribution of a Class B drug, while a female employee will be charged with possession of a Class B drug. Both will face charges of conspiracy to violate drug laws.

Their identities have not been released, as a formal criminal complaint will be filed Monday in New Bedford District Court.

The charges are the result of an investigation into narcotics at Dartmouth Town Hall Thursday.

Greg Barnes, Director of Budget & Finance for the Town of Dartmouth, tells WBSM News that the investigation had been ongoing, beginning with a tip from another employee. He says the two involved in the investigation have been placed on administrative leave indefinitely.
