New York State has sacked DraftKings.

It's difficult to watch an NFL game this season without seeing a commercial for DraftKings.  They are in Major League Baseball parks, NFL Stadiums, and on home computers all across America.  But the question remains...are they legal?  New York State says no.

According to WCVB, the New York attorney general called DraftKings and rival FanDuel, "leaders of a massive, multi billion dollar scheme intended to evade the law and fleece sports fans across the country."   The AG also says that it is a game of chance...which makes daily fantasy football illegal gambling.

However, DraftKings is fighting back.  The company has hired Martha Coakley, former Massachusetts attorney general and News Center 5 legal analyst,  as an advisor. She says that NY attorney general acted too quickly and uninformed.  Defenders of Draftkings and FanDuel invite people who have no idea about football or baseball to play and see how quickly they decide fantasy football is a game of knowledge and skill.

The company is now urging fans in New York to fight back and contact their attorney general about their right to play daily fantasy sports.
