A museum dedicated to one of the most popular children's authors of all time is now officially open in Springfield, MA.

The Amazing World of Dr. Seuss is a museum dedicated to the stories of Ted Geisel and brings many of his memorable characters to life for children young and old.

Located at 21 Edwards St in Geisel's hometown of Springfield, this two-story museum is about 2-hours from the Southcoast and looks totally worth the road trip.

If your kids love reading The Cat in the Hat or Horton Hears a Who, then make plans this summer for a trip to this new museum.

The website says the first floor is full of games, activities and stories, while the second floor features some of Ted Geisel's personal memorabilia like paintings, hats and even furniture from his home.

The entire place is painted in bright colors (of course) and pretty much every major story character Geisel created is featured in some way, shape or form.

Definitely road trip worthy!
