After being added to the 53-man roster prior towards the end of last week, New England Patriots' running back Dion Lewis was inactive for the team's 31-24 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

While he was a "healthy" scratch in his first opportunity to play last Sunday, the shifty, dual threat back has been officially listed as active for the team's 4:25 showdown with the San Francisco 49ers.

Lewis, who suffered a torn ACL during the team's Week 9 win over the Washington Redskins last season, had started the season on the PUP list, as he rehabbed from surgery.

Lewis was a key factor in New England's first 10 games last season, gaining 622 total yards from scrimmage on 85 touches. He also scored four touchdowns.

The fifth year pro will likely have a limited role in today's action, but the fact that he is active means we should see him on the field at some point. Expect him to be eased back into the rotation and work in a tandem with the team's other pass catching back James White.
