Dighton Police Investigating Murder of 17-Year-Old Boy

DIGHTON — Dighton Police, Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to this office and prosecutors are actively investigating a homicide, which occurred in the Town of Dighton this evening.

Dighton Police received a 911 call from 475 Forest Street around 6:43 p.m. regarding a medical emergency involving a young man who was shot inside the home. When first responders arrived on scene, they rushed the 17-year-old North Dighton male to Morton Hospital in Taunton, where he was later pronounced dead.

The victim cannot be publicly identified at this time because next of kin has yet to be notified of the death.

The investigation, which is extremely active and ongoing this evening, is being coordinated by Assistant District Attorney Robert Digiantomaso. No further information about the investigation can be released at this time.
