Downtown New Bedford's popular "Deck the Windows" returns this holiday season and is expanding to Acushnet Avenue as well. The program was originally brought to the area by the New Bedford Cultural Council in 2014 when they challenged  business, restaurants, shops, galleries, museums, artists and artist groups to adopt a window or door and decorate it with paint and staging to create a whimsical holiday theme.

The result was more than 40 participating locations and one of the most festive sights in our area.  This year, the NB Cultural Council has offered to provide grant money to help pay for the supplies and artists stipends needed to decorate the storefronts.

The contesting among the decorated storefronts and windows begins on Monday, November 30th and winner's will be announced during downtown's AHA! Night on Participating locations will have ballot boxes to accept the public's vote.

The contest begins Nov. 30 and will run through New Year's Eve. Winners will be announced at Downtown's AHA! Night on Thursday, Dec 10.
