DARTMOUTH - A now-defunct Dartmouth car dealership owes customers nearly $120,000.

According to a WPRI-TV investigation, Southcoast Auto Exchange recently closed it's doors, leaving several customers without cars they had already purchased, but never received.

Over the past four years, dozens of small claims have been filed against Southcoast Auto Exchange, with the court siding with the customers and ordering the dealership to pay them back.

Complaints have also been filed with the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office. Attorney General Maura Healey is advising the plaintiffs to file cases in small claims court.

The owners of Southcoast Auto Exchange also own a dealership in Cranston, Rhode Island. Ocean State customers filed two dozen complaints against that dealership for similar circumstances.

Messages to the owners of the dealerships have not been returned.
