The addiction of app games and watching TV shows is hard to ignore.

If parents are finding it hard to pull away their children from their electronic devices, researchers have found that the parent must set by example and turn off their devices first.

According to TODAY.com, multiple experts believe that parents must lead by example and action and they can help their children break the screen habit by developing healthy interpersonal relationships through conversation.

There is a free guide titled “Outsmarting the Smart Screens: A Parent’s Guide to the Tools That Are Here To Help,” which states that there should be reasonable limits for a child’s screen time.

However, psychologist Dr. Catherine Steiner-Adair, author of "The Big Disconnect: Protecting Childhood and Family Relationships in the Digital Age," states that the behavior by the parents influences the amount of time that a child uses electronic devices. Children copy what their parents do by turning their attention to electronic devices. Also, Dr. Steiner-Adair said that parents should not use their devices when their children are close by.
