Ever since Necco Wafers went out of business, people wondered about the candy conversation hearts. Well there will be some this Valentine's Day, but will you be able to get them?

Conversation hearts are making a Valentine's Day return, but with a bit of a catch.

After a year of no terribly chalky "Hug Me" or "Be Mine" candies, Spangler Candy Company out of Ohio says they will in fact make them again. But they won't be like you remember.

Spangler bought out Necco Wafers and Sweethearts in the fall of 2018, leaving them with no time to create the Valentine favorites for the 2019 holiday.

And though they claim they have learned how important these little candies are to fans, they still aren't making them the same way for Valentine's 2020.

It seems getting the candy making equipment from the former Necco Wafers plant in Massachusetts to it's new factory home was a year-long process. So there has been very little time with everything put back together to make the amount of conversation hearts that were typically created for Valentine's Day.

Instead a much smaller supply was made, some even without any conversation quotes on them, and they will only be shipped to specific stores this year.

You will be able to find a small selection of conversation hearts at drugstores like CVS and Walgreens but when they are gone, they are gone.

So if you love these classic heart candies, grab them while you can because they are bound to sell out fast.
