A very colorful kid-friendly race is coming to the Southcoast.
Coming up next Saturday, May 12th from 12-2 is the Color Run Fundraiser to raise money for the Betsey B. Winslow School in New Bedford.

Participants are encouraged to wear their most colorful attire and of course, expect some color powder to be thrown in your face (don't worry, it's not toxic). Color runs are always a good time and they're becoming more popular seeing how it takes an exhausting task and puts a fun spin on it.

Oh, and did I mention it's all for a good cause?

The half-mile run/walk is free for Winslow students, but donations are always welcome. For out of district entrants, the fee is $15 for adults or $10 for youths.

In addition to the run itself, there is going to be entertainment like face painting and Richie's Cool Licks Cafe for food and beverages.

If you want to help the Winslow school, but you aren't much of a runner, you can email Erin.Costa@yahoo.com to volunteer for the run. On the off chance it rains, the rain date is Saturday, May 19th from 12-2 PM.
