Have you ever wondered why you see people carrying around a stick with an electronic device on the end of it?  It’s because they’re trying to snap the "perfect" selfie or capture the next "coolest" video ever!

Well, it’s painful to break this news, but for all the Coachella (Valley Music and Arts) and Lollapalooza Festival goers, unfortunately you won’t be able to bring your selfie sticks into the shows this year.

According to Billboard, these two monster festivals have listed these as “prohibited items.” Coachella’s FAQ Section blatantly says, “no selfie sticks/Narcissists,” and Lollapalooza’s say’s “no GoPro attachments like sticks, selfie sticks and monopods.”

From the sound of it, it sounds like it will be a tough rule to enforce. But for the “narcissists” and other alike, you’ll have to revert to your older ways of taking a selfie by stretching that arm as far as you can and still pull off that incredible selfie that’ll find its way through three applications and seven edits before it reaches anyone.

Coachella is split into two weekend, April 10-12 and April 17-19, and is being held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, while Lollapalooza is being held at Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois, from July 31-August 2, 2015.

“As for other festivals like Bonnaroo, Governors Ball, Sasquatch and Treasure Island make no mention of selfie sticks -- banned or otherwise. Not yet, at least,” according to Billboard.
