A nice cost saving do-it-yourself moment hit me yesterday while I was checking out some videos on youtube. And you heard it right, using toothpaste on the headlight lens definately will save you $20 to $50 depending on what headlight restore kit you plan on using. Don't. Go the toothpaste route.

In the video, regular toothpaste can be used, but the ones that have teeth whitening particles actually whiten up the len much better, and remove oxidation. I had to try it myself on one of my cars and as you can see the yellow is gone and they're a lot whiter, with no cavities.
