My grandchildren love the makeup and accessories sold at Claire's. It's the kind of retailer that targets the younger demographic. Just before Christmas, a Rhode Island mother grew very concerned about the ingredients in glitter makeup she bought for her 6-year-old daughter, so she sent it off to have it tested. The results came back indicating that the makeup tested positive for tremolite asbestos, which has been associated with mesothelioma and other types of cancer.

The child's mother, who works at a Rhode Island law firm that specializes in asbestos litigation, prompted her boss to purchase this makeup to test from nine different states. Because of all the media attention, Claire's has pulled a few products from its shelves.

But just in case you bought the makeup before Christmas, Claire's provided consumers with a list of products, including the makeup, eye shadow, lip gloss palette and glitter cell phone makeup compact, among others.

Claire's will gladly issue refunds for products returned.
