The New Bedford City Council recognized Jarrid Tansey Thursday night for his service at Palace Pizza and the way he handled himself in a video seen worldwide.

Tansey was the delivery driver filmed being bullied by employees at F&R Auto in Westport.

Despite all the national attention and thousands of dollars in donations, Tansey says he just wants to return to his normal way of life.

The Council presented the young man with an official citation as well as a gift certificate from Fernandes Masonry for dinner and a massage.

Victor Fernandes, owner of Fernandes Masonry, wrote in a letter that he appreciated Tansey's actions and that they set a positive example for people around the world.
