Chris Brown's legal troubles continue. According to a report TMZ posted today (Dec. 27), the "Attention" singer is facing two criminal charges after he reportedly copped himself a baby capuchin monkey last year without a permit.

Brown first showcased his pet monkey, Fiji, after posting a video of his daughter Royalty playing with primate late last year. Afterwards, Brown faced criticism for allowing his child to play with the wild animal, which led to someone informing the California Dept. of Fish and Wildlife.

After an investigation was conducted, authorities were able to get a search warrant and had planned to raid the "To My Bed" singer's home. However, Brown decided to voluntarily surrender the animal. According to legal docs obtained by TMZ, the Los Angeles City Attorney is charging the "Hope You Do" crooner with two counts of having a restricted species without a permit, both of which have a maximum sentence of six months in jail.

Although he's not on house arrest at the moment, Chris Breezy did run into some other legal trouble this year. Back in July, the "I Don't Die" singer was arrested in West Palm Beach, Fla. on an outstanding 2017 warrant for felony battery.

The "Freaky Friday" singer was in South Florida performing at the Coral Sky Amphitheatre when cops nabbed him immediately after his show. The artist was booked and released on $2,000 bond.
